About the Event

In 1781, the historic 680 mile “March to Victory” culminated in the decisive victory at Yorktown that secured the independence of our nation.  The River crossing East-to-West at Trenton was the approximate half-way point of the long March of French troops that began in Newport, Rhode Island.  The Continental American Army had a Rear Guard encampment at what is now the Anne Demarais Nature Center and Notre Dame HS, north of Trenton.  The rear guard provided security for the Army units that had previously moved south into Trenton, to prepare to cross the Delaware River.

This is an all-ages program.  Snacks will be provided.  Reenactor photos by David Kelly Crow will be displayed.  This program in Lawrence is a build-up for the larger reenactor event on Saturday 8/24, 10 AM to 4 PM, at the 1719 Wm Trent House in Trenton.
