First Saturday Walks

Start your month off right …
Join us for our First Saturday Walks.

Every month, on the first Saturday, Lawrence Township Environmental education Foundation is sponsoring walks through the meadow at the Lawrence Nature Center and through the Drexel Woods to see the wonders of nature, learn about the history of Lawrence Township and enjoy the great outdoors.  Check back here, on our Events page to see what is coming up and to register for a walk.

Lichens are everywhere around us, on trees, on rocks, on fences and picnic tables, even on old cars! They are easy to overlook but they play an important role in local ecosystems, and their unique lifestyle is a model of cooperation among different species. Join our guide, Dennis Waters, and your neighbors from the Lawrence Township Environmental Education Foundation to look for lichens as we walk around the Anne Demarais Nature Center, and learn how to tell them apart. Bring your own lichens from home to identify! A free family program from the Lawrence Township Environmental Education Foundation.

December is here!  Time for a Walk
